1) When residing on or visiting a space station, especially one of the 483 (at this printing) Recreation Stations in our Galaxy, up-beam refers to one of the outer rings of the station where the starhoppers dwell; 2) When transiting via Up-See-Daisy, up-beam refers to the position of any being or bot who will reach your destination before you; 3) When transiting via Down-See-Daisy, up-beam refers to the position of any being or bot who may well land on your head if you do not exit the beam quickly upon reaching your destination; 4) In general usage, the term up-beam refers to all things upscale, expensive, or “classy.”
