Glossary Entry: New Wyoming

Homeworld of the Medea family and headquarters of their company Krystals ‘n’ Things, New Wyoming is part of the Phoebus System, situated at the edge of the New Frontier. The climate of New Wyoming has much in common with the Amercadian Southwest, not quite as deadly hot, but at least as dry. The planet’s sandy soil is reddish in color, its sky streaked with peach, pink and fuschia by day, and at night its three moons ride a violet sky. For most of its history, there was very little surface water on the planet, though water could be pumped from sources underground for the use of its human inhabitants and their pets, riding dogs, and other domestic beasts. New Wyoming riding dogs are much desired for planetside transport and pleasure riding all over the settled Multiverse. The earlier generations of the Medea family loved their red-tinted, desert-like world and really loved the fact that they had very few neighbors near their humongous patch of the planet. Once the Medea stronghold came under the control of Margaret Medea’s third daughter, Verloona Ti, things changed. In AnarchEra 131 AE, Ti commissioned a costly terraforming effort that took a mere 14 cycles to complete. She did not bother to consult New Wyoming’s other inhabitants–granted, there weren’t many–and she informed her pricy team of terraformers that money was no object, which it wasn’t. Ti had been the only heir to the Krystal ‘n’ Things® fortune amassed by her mother and older sister, Mary. It was also true that Verloona’s many Temple of Beauty® franchises and, later, her patented anti-aging serum Stolen Youth brought in a pretty good chunk of change. The final result was a planet covered in rivers, lakes, green foliage, and pink azaleas imported from the planet Azalea, home of Club Nebb.
