In Cycle 142 AE, McCarrigan Higgs, a Boatswain in the Amercadian Space Brigade, blasted his way into history via Rec Station News, after overdosing on android life in one of Rec 97’s many RIP parlors. Though some (see: Pico, Nick “The Geezer”) have said what Higgs experienced was a rare allergic reaction, rather than an OD, the evidence for that is slim to zilch. In any case, after being heard to shout, “I’m feeling lucky!”, Higgs rampaged through many levels of the station, from the Vale of Tiers to Nouvelle Orleans and Boardwalk, shooting his blaster wildly and randomly, both into the crowd and at various storefronts and signs. The incident ended with Higgs barreling into Boardwalk’s posh nightclub and casino, The Dome, and inadvertently winning the Super Fireball quintuple jackpot after tripping into the game’s reverso-grav ball chute. So yes, lucky, were it not for the fact that Bosun Higgs died when his brain melted mere ribecs later and he shuffled off this mortal coil, while lying on a bed of gold-toned Dome tokens worth 160 million standard galactic credits. The whole episode was recorded by Rootersnoos ferret Jimmy the Snout, whose report won a Spacer’s Choice award for Best Senseless Violence in Infotainment. Footage fetched by Snout’s Be & See Reals showed that Higgs had been coerced into the RIP parlor by his friend, Tech Officer Gus Gorfman, thus ending not only the life of Higgs, but the career of Gorfman.
